The Advanced panel enables you to configure advanced search capabilities that extend beyond the default post content, including taxonomies and custom fields. These settings are crucial for building powerful, targeted search functionality for complex sites with extended metadata or categorized content.
- Search Categories/Tags/Terms: Toggle this setting to include taxonomy term names in search queries: Allows users to find posts via category names, tags, or other registered taxonomy terms. Useful for blogs, directories, or any site where taxonomy plays a role in content organization.
- Search Custom Fields: Enable this to include metadata or user-defined fields in the search scope. Allows search queries to match content within ACF fields, custom input fields, product specs, etc. Ideal for WooCommerce, advanced blogs, and any use case with extended post meta.
- Custom Fields List: Specify exactly which custom fields to include in the search. Add one or more custom field keys to this input box. Example: price, brand, location, event_date. Leave blank to disable it. Tip: Use this field to target high-value metadata and avoid noise from hidden or irrelevant fields.
